Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission is selection commission for HP state candidates in State administration service and HP state jobs. In the first week of June 2016 Himachal PSC was asked the online applications for the post of Assistant professor in college cadre. The total post was 490 and there were more than 1 Lac 37 thousand candidates applied online for this post. The last for apply online was 21th June 2016. the advertisement number was 8/2016. Aspirants who have applied successfully can download their admit card from below given link, entering their application ID or date of birth. Exam syllabus and date of exam is given below.

The total vacancies was issued 490 including the subjects of English , Economics, Hindi, Political Science, History, Commerce, Music (vocal), Music (instrumental), Painting, Sculpture , Applied Art , Sociology , Maths, Sanskrit, Chemistry, Zoology, Geography, Physics , Physics, Botany and Home Science. The date of exam didn’t fix till now.
In cases where the number of eligible candidates for recruitment to the post issued by the Himachal public Commission is inordinately large, the Commission may limit / shortlist the number of eligible candidates to be called for interviews by subjecting them to a screening test (objective-type / descriptive) of two hours duration. Final selection (merit list) of a candidate will be made solely on the basis of his/her performance in the viva-voce test/ interview, which will be of maximum 100 marks. The minimum pass marks in interview are 45 for the candidates of general category and 35 marks for the candidates of reserved categories
