ITBPF has invited applications from Indian Citizens to fill up Assistant Commandant post which is Central Government Group-A, Gazetted Combatised (Non Ministerial) post. Selected candidates shall be governed by ITBPF Act 1992 and ITBPF Rules 1994 as amended from time to time. Information related to selection process and how to apply is given below.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is one of the five Central Armed Police Forces of India, raised on 24 October 1962, under the CRPF Act, in the wake of the Sino-Indian War of 1962. In September, 1996, the Parliament of India enacted the “Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force Act, 1992” to “provide for the constitution and regulation” of the ITBP “for ensuring the security of the borders of India and for matters connected therewith”.

Educational Qualifications criteria for Assistant Commandant |
Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University. (If a candidate has filled any form or have given any exam to fulfill the required qualifications, then he/she can apply and appear for selection test but their candidature will be cancelled if they will not show any proof of having passed such examination at the time of interview.)

Medical Standards: Medical aspects will be judged on the basis of eye sight, laser surgery, knock-knees, flat foot, squint eyes, color blindness and tattoos.

(b) copy of Degree in Civil Engineering. (c) copy of caste certificate. (d) OBC (NCL) certificate. (e) two latest passport size photographs. (One pasted on application form and another on admit card.). (f) passport or Pan Card or Voter ID or Aadhar Card or Domicile Certificate for verification of citizenship of the candidate. (g) two self addressed envelope of 11.5 Cms x 27.5 CMs size with stamp worth Rs. 25/ each with full postal address of the candidate neatly written on envelope in BLOCK Letters.
Note: The envelope containing application should be superscribed in bold letters as “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ASSISTANT COMMANDANT (ENGINEER) IN ITBP”.
Offline Mode: Candidates should pay Rs.200/- by means of “Demand Draft (DD) OR Indian Postal Orders (IPO)” only. DD orIPO should be drawn in the name of DDO, Dte.Gen. ITB Police Force, New Delhi.
Online Mode: Rs.200/-
Note: Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST and Ex-Servicemen category are exempted from paying fee.
Selection Process for Assistant commandant in ITBP |
It consists of following phases which are as follows:
(1) Physical Verification of documentation: Cndidates will be first called to verify their documents. Original documents will be returned on the spot after verification. No marks shall be allotted for documents verification.
(2) Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates who have qualified document verification will be called for PST to assess their height, weight and chest according to prescribed standards.
(3) Physical Efficiency Test(PET): Candidates who have qualified PST will be called for PET.Candidates are required to qualify all events of PET independently which are as follows:
(a) 100 Meter Race:
Male: In 16 Seconds
Female: In 18 Seconds
(b) 800 Meters Race
Male: In 3 Minutes 45 seconds
Female: In 4 Minutes 45 seconds
(c) Long Jump
Male: 3.5 Meters(3 chances)
Female: 3.0 Meters(3 chances)
(d) Shot Put(7.26 kgs)
Male:4.5 meters(3 chances)
(4) Biometric Identification: Candidates who have qualified PET will be called for biometric identification.
(5) Written Examination: It will be a bilingual test which means questions will be in English and Hindi both. There will be two parts. Part1 will be multiple choice paper of 100 marks having 4 sections as General Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude and English. Part2 will be subjective(bilingual) carrying 100 marks. It will have questions from civil engineering which are futher divided in 3 subparts.

(6) Interview: Candidates who are qualified in above mentioned tests will be called for interview.
Documents to carry:
Candidates have to carry self-attested copies of below given documents at the time at the time of selection process which are: class 10th certificate & Marks sheet showing date of birth, 12th class certificate & marks sheet, Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and caste certificate (if applicable) along with original certificates.
